Counting Dragons...

...Before they hatch, perhaps? I looked at my current batch of dragons and realized...they look like a little family! So here they are, gathered in the front yard, and speculating on their newest clutch of eggs. Polaris, the proud father, would like all the babies to be blue like him. Etna, the red beauty, says that she doesn't really care as long as her babies are healthy...but she secretly wants them to be just the color of their eggshells (never a certainty, but it does happen). The dragonets Snowdrop and Péle would be greatly amused to have little purple brothers and sisters - a perfect blend of the parental colors. But no one really knows the nuts and bolts of dragon genetics (quintuple-strand DNA, don't you know) so you can't count your dragons before they hatch!
